Time To Start Painting...
Well if I don't get started then I will never get finished...

Buying The Paint
Have I told you the story of the paint and colors??

I was thinking I wanted it to be grey with a blue stripe. So I called the paint store to get an idea what paint was going to cost and told the salesman I wanted some grey paint. He said he had some grey he would give me a great deal on!! To come right over...

So I went over and he shows me this grey that he had , a left over or mistake they had made. I told him it was a little to light for what I wanted. He dumped some black in it and said how about now??

Ok I told him, did he have any blue that I could match with it? Oh he has a special blue. He pulls out another mistake and it is a pretty blue metallic color. He asked about the sprayer I had and told me that I really needed a gravity flow sprayer. If I would buy a new sprayer he would GIVE me the paint...

What a deal...
So I buy sprayer and he sets me up with thinners, mixing buckets, paint, primer and everything. Out the door for $350.00 !! So I start with the primer and get the whole truck primered...

Color Scheme??
Well, since this project started the color scheme has sort of been a floating design.

I finally have decided that I will paint the sides of the truck with the grey from the bottom up to the bend in the body high on the doors.

Then the hood and top will be blue with grey stripes. The blue would extend down to meet the grey at the bend in the body as well.

I had been wondering how I was going to do the part where the colors meet.

When I was thinking of the bottom side only having a small stripe, I was thinking a piece of body molding would cover the color change. But since I had changed that idea I didn't know what I was going to do.

Then Tom, Supervisor Slave, suggested that we blend the colors with 4 small stripes of four sizes alternating the colors to blend the look together. I told him we would try it if he would tape it off for me.

When I got the grey painted on then Tom and I spent 4 hours taping on side stripes, hood and roof stripes. This is way more fun than I expected.
